With millions of users from all over the world, Netflix, the largest digital streaming platform, is preparing to make a surprising decision for iPhone and iPad users. It appears that the company will stop supporting iOS and iPadOS versions that were released two years ago. Here are the details…
Netflix is ending support for iOS 16 and iPadOS 16
MacRumors editor Aaron Perris has detected lines of code in the latest version of the Netflix app that reveal an upcoming change. According to this, Netflix updates will no longer be released for iPhones running iOS 16 and iPads running iPadOS 16.
In order to continue benefiting from new features, updates, and bug fixes in the Netflix app, users will need to update their Apple devices to iOS 17 or iPadOS 17 and above. If your iPhone or iPad is up-to-date, there’s no need to worry.
If this rumor is true, Netflix will no longer provide updates for iPhone X, iPhone 8, iPhone 8 Plus, iPad Pro (1st generation), and iPad (5th generation). Therefore, affected users will continue using the older version of the app, which means they will not have access to new features.
The iPhone and iPad models expected to lose Netflix update support are as follows:
- iPhone 8
- iPhone 8 Plus
- iPhone X
- iPad Pro (1st generation)
- iPad (5th generation)
According to the information received, the last update where Netflix will end support for iOS 16 and iPadOS 16 is expected to be released soon. There is currently no exact date available.
